Manchester United were leapfrogged by West Ham United after Jay Rodriguez scored his first goal in 50 league games to earn the bottom club, Burnley a precious point at Turf Moor.
Raphael Varane thought he had put United ahead in the 12th minute but it was chopped off after a VAR review sported an offside in the build-up to the goal.
United dominated play and had most of the chances before getting rewarded in the 18th minute when Paul Pogba finished off an assist from Luke Shaw to put the Red Devils 1-0 ahead.

Burnleys’ goalkeeper, Nick Pope then made excellent saves to deny Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, and Raphael Varane.
Unlike the visitors, the home side made the most of their brief spell in the ascendency when Jay Rodriguez ran onto Wout Weghorst’s defense-splitting pass to equalise for Burnley in the 47th minute.
The draw means United have now dropped to the fifth position behind West Ham, who moved 4th after beating Watford.
Arsenal and Spurs are also waiting in the wings to catch up with The Red Devils if they win their games in hand.
Meanwhile, Burnley are now four points from safety, but are three unbeaten, and have games in hand over all their fellow relegation rivals.
