Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has counselled Arsenal’s young striker, Eddie Nketiah not to renew his contract with The Gunners this summer if he wants to become a top player.
Carragher gave the advice while speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal edged the match against relegation threatened Leeds United 2-1 on Sunday at the Emirates.
The young attacker found the net twice in the game and his goals earned Mikel Arteta’s side a crucial win and put them in a very good position to qualify for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) next season.
The Gunners courtesy of the 2-1 win have now moved four points clear of Tottenham who they play on Thursday.
The Lillywhites also remain their only challenger for the 4th spot in the race for European Elite completion UCL.

But Eddie Nketiah’s contract runs out in the summer, and Arteta is reportedly keen to keep the 22-year-old striker at the Emirates.
However, Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has advised the Arsenal academy graduate to reject the clubs’ offer if he wants to get the opportunities he needs to develop.
He said, “Yes [Arsenal] should try to keep him, but I don’t think he’ll ever end up first-choice striker, so I think it would be better for him to move on.”
Eddie Nketiah has scored four goals in his last four Premier League matches for Arsenal and this has caught the eye of potential suitors.
