Following Thursday’s scrapping of the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE), Senator Shehu Sani, representing Kaduna North District, on Friday called for a reform of the Joint Administration and Matriculation Board (JAMB)
This, he said, would end the suffering of candidates of Nigerian universities as the board becomes more efficient.
Senator Sani had tweeted through his official handle: “With the scrapping of post UTME, the reform of JAMB is next on the line to end the suffering of its clients and make it more efficient.”
Speaking in Abuja, Education Minister, Malam Adamu Adamu, said: “As far as I am concerned, the nation has confidence in what JAMB is doing,” stressing that should any university have complaints against the board, such should be reported and addressed.
He also directed JAMB to stop the multiplicity of charges such as those for change of course or school, among others.
