Ace Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti has made a rather controversial assertion, claiming that “85 percent of married women want to leave their marriages.”

The veteran thespian made this known while featuring as a guest on a recent episode of Gistzlife.

In her words, she had attempted to walk out of her marriage three times but ended up finding herself stuck in the union.

She went on to say it is after people in marriage have walked down the aisle, that couples tend to know each other better, insisting there are a lot of grey areas not discovered while people are dating.

Jaiye Kuti further added that men’s egocentric urge to cheat is also another deal breaker for women as it makes them to contemplate divorce.

Speaking during the interview, she said: “If you ask a hundred women, 85% want to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave thrice. The problem is that when you marry someone from a different culture, people start to reveal their actual selves.

“A man would treat and pamper a woman when he wanted to get married, but when a second marriage and kids are involved, things go too far. Men can also have egotistical tendencies and are unstoppable when it comes to cheating.”
