Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter seems to be having a good laugh over the recently launched social media platform belonging to ex-US president, Donald Trump.
In a Twitter post, Dorsey joked that his Twitter handle @jack is already taken on the new social media, TRUTH Social.
“I guess @jack is taken,” he said referring to an account belonging to a similarly bearded man on TRUTH Social.
He also said another account ostensibly belonging to the same man but named @jack and @jane are both cool names.
“@jane seems cool,” he said.
Dorsey’s Twitter permanently suspended Donald Trump from the platform after the former president was accused of using it to incite rioters who invaded Capitol Hill on January 6.
Facebook followed and slammed Trump with two years of suspension after it emerged that his posts on both platforms were responsible for the January 6 mayhem.
Trump’s new social network is set to launch a beta version in November, which will be available to guests only. Its national rollout is expected in the first quarter of 2022, the press release said.
Earlier this year, major social media firms including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, banned or suspended Trump for violating their policies following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Trump said he created TRUTH Social to stand up to the tyranny of big tech in a world where terrorist organisations like the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter yet “your favourite American President has been silenced.”
