Popular singer and songwriter, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, known by the mononym Iyanya, has disclosed why a lot of the winners of music reality TV shows go into oblivion after winning the competition.

Iyanya, who is the winner of the maiden edition of Project Fame West Africa, made the revelation during a recent interview with Hip TV, where he said most of them emerge winners because they have good voices.

The ‘Kukere’ crooner further added that it is important to go into the competition with plans on what you intend to do after the show if you want to remain relevant after achieving fame.

Speaking during the chat, Iyanya said: “Obviously, most people who win these reality shows don’t have any plans of being famous or anything. It just happened to them. Yeah, he has a nice voice, tried it and he won.

“So, I believe that the people who go further are the people who prayed for that platform. And they finally got it and they are like, ‘I’m not going back from here.’ That is how I look at it.”
