Iwobi says he’s now focused on beating Benin after draw against South Africa

Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has assured fans of the Super Eagles that he and his teammates have moved on from Friday’s draw and shifted attention to Monday’s clash against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.

He made this known via a now-viral post on his X page, while acknowledging that the score draw the team played in Uyo was disappointing.

Three-time African champions, Nigeria  played a 1-1 draw against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom last week.

Finidi’s men now need a win against Benin Republic to get their World Cup qualification campaign back on track after three consecutive draws.

Reacting to the performance against the Bafana Bafana, Iwobi said he has put the result behind him and he is now firmly focused on the clash against Nigeria’s West African neighbour, Benin.

Speaking via his verified social media page, the Premier League midfielder tweeted: “Not The Result Wanted… Another Game To Look Forward To.”
