The entrance of DJ Cuppy, a female disc jockey, in Nigerian music scene would have been just another one that could pass without much buzz, but this beautiful DJ has an edge.
She is very young, educated and, above all, the daughter of billionaire business magnate, Femi Otedola.
Last year, Otedola launched Red Velvet Music Group, the multi-million naira music company he floated for Cuppy on her 21st birthday and graduation ceremony in London.
Ever since, the business management graduate has been spinning the turntables at prestigious events and meeting people who originally would have nothing to do with a ‘mere DJ’.
Early this year, the fast-rising DJ shared a photo of herself with her father and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote. It would have been a feat for some millionaires to be sandwiched between billionaires.
Following her father’s footstep, DJ Cuppy was profiled in the latest edition of Forbes Woman Africa magazine where she is credited as setting new standards in the game.
Aside high profile performances in the country, she was the DJ at Diane von Furstenberg’s fashion event, and oil barons charity event in Dubai with the presence of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
With the mouth-watering performances coming her way, one could safely say that her father’s name is opening doors for her, but it should also be noted that DJ Cuppy is hard working and willing to learn.
She is currently an intern at Jay Z’s Roc Nation in New York.
