Inter Milan boss, Simone Inzaghi has revealed how his team intend to stop Manchester City’s goal posher, Erling Haaland during their Champions League final on Saturday night.

The Citizens face La Beneamata at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, in their pursuit of a treble following their Premier League and FA Cup triumphs.

Man City are the favourites going into Saturday night’s encounter but the Serie A side are in with a shout.

Inter are expected to put up great resistance, but Pep Guardiola’s side may prove to be too much, especially with Haaland up front to bang in the goals.

The Norway international found the net a total of 52 times in all competitions in his maiden season at the Etihad, including 12 in 10 Champions League games so far.

But Inter Milan manager, Inzaghi believes his side can get the desired result if his players mark Haaland tightly during the game

He also asserted that the midfield will be key in the encounter, but added his side must be ready in all areas of the pitch to get a result.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday, he said: “We all know what a great player he [Erling Haaland] is and how strong City are.

“He will be marked tightly. However, we will keep a close eye on all the City players. We need to stop Haaland and also the other players.”

He added, “The midfield will be key tomorrow, but all areas will be important. We will need to run and we need hearts and minds too. We need to go to an extra yard tomorrow.”
