Insecurity continues to plague Nigeria but Buhari’s aide on media., Garba Shehu, argues that his principal deserves credit for taming it
Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on social media, has challenged Garba Shehu to prove that President Muhammadu Buhari has improved Nigeria’s security situation by passing a night in Bama, a Borno community.

Shehu had claimed that Buhari improved Nigeria’s security situation better than his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
He had said in a statement on November 26 that: “When the (Buhari) government came to power, the terrorist group held and administered an area the size of Belgium. Now they hold none. The terrorists are hiding out amongst remote forests and across borders.

“This makes it difficult to extinguish the final flames of the insurgency, and the government has no illusions of the potent threat still posed.
“Recent statistics have shown that over 14,500 boko haram members have voluntarily surrendered,” he said.
But Reno Omokri offers Garba Shehu a $50,000 challenge to pass a weekend in Bama, a community Boko Haram fighters, to prove that Buhari has improved Nigeria’s situation.
He said via his Twitter handle, @ renoomokri that: “Yesterday, Garba Shehu renewed his claim that .’Buhari deserves credit for tackling insecurity’. I renew my challenge to Garba. Spend a weekend alone, without security, in Bama. I will pay him $50k. Retweet and tag him so Garba can’t deny seeing this.”
