Ini Edo says late broadcaster, Tokunbo Ajayi was her role model 

Ini Edo in a recent interview also revealed she dreamt of becoming a lawyer or broadcaster before opting for acting

Ace Nollywood actress, Iniobong Edo, better known as Ini Edo has revealed that late Nigerian broadcaster, Tokunbo Ajayi was her role model.

The thespian made this known during a recent interview with popular media personality, Chude Jideonwo, where she also said her childhood dream was to be a lawyer or a newscaster.

She further said she dropped the idea of becoming a lawyer or journalist after she went to the university to study diploma, Theater Art.

Speaking during the chat, she said, “I wanted to be a lawyer or newscaster. My role model was the late Tokunbo Ajayi. I always loved to watch her news. That is actually who I wanted to be like. I never really thought that I was going to be an actor.

“I have always been in the arts in school, church, you know. But then I went to do a Theater Art diploma when I was waiting for my JAMB to go do Law. Then I started doing stage acting. The opportunity to go to the film came, and I just became an actor. It was destiny.”

Ini Edo went on to say her family was initially opposed to her decision to join Nollywood as an actress.

According to her, a movie director, Ikenna Igwe was the one who helped to convince her parents to go3 into acting.
