The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that it will deploy 21,947 staff to conduct the Kogi and Bayelsa governorship elections slated November 21 and December 5 respectively.
For the Kogi governorship election, 12,120 electoral officers will be deployed, while for the Bayelsa governorship election 9,827 officers would be deployed.
A breakdown of personnel to be deployed in the Kogi governorship election reveals one Returning Officer; 21 LGA Collation Officers; 239 Registration Area Collation Officers; 255 Supervisory Presiding Officers; 2,548 Presiding Officers (NYSC); 7,644 Assistant Presiding Officers (I, II, and III).
Others are 883 Assistant Presiding Officers (VP); 426 Reserve APOs (5%) of APOs (NYSC); 22 LGA Supervisors + Headquarters 1 Reserve; 80 Registration Area Cluster Supervisors + HQ 1 Reserve; and one Constituency Supervisor.
Similarly, the breakdown of personnel for the Bayelsa governorship election is: One Returning Officer; 8 LGA Collation Officers; 105 Registration Area Collation Officers; 180 Supervisory Presiding Officers; 1,804 Presiding Officers (NYSC).
Others are 5,412 Assistant Presiding Officers (I, II, and III); 1,931 Assistant Presiding Officers (VP); 271 Reserve APOs (5%) of APOs (NYSC); 9 LGA Supervisors + Headquarters 1 Reserve; 106 Registration Area Supervisors + Headquarters 1; and 106 Reserve.
