The incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of the governorship election conducted on Saturday, October 10.
He emerged winner of the election which held across the 302 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state.
Akeredolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), scored 292,830 votes while Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is also a SAN, polled 195,780 votes.
The incumbent Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi, who ran on the platform of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) came a distant third with 69,127 votes.
