The Indian Army on Thursday warned of terror attacks ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit later this month.
Lt.-Gen. K.H. Singh, Commander of Indian Army’s 16 Corps, told newsmen in New Delhi.
“Indian Army camps and important highways are also on their radar.
“Nearly 200 militants in 36 launch pads across the Pir Panjal Range are waiting to infiltrate into India.
“However, our counter- infiltration posture is firmly in place and infiltration bids will be eliminated,’’ Singh said.
He added that the Indian Army was prepared all the time for any eventuality.
President Obama would arrive in India on Jan. 25 on a three-day tour, during which he would be the chief guest in the Republic Day celebrations.
