In Ebonyi, Nuns turn out to join a long queue

In Rivers,Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) failed to accredit Governor Nyesom Wike and Eberechi his wife, but in Ebonyi, Catholic Nuns came out in huge numbers at Polling Unit 008 Pastoral Centre in Abakaliki to cast their votes as accreditation and voting began.
Tribune reports older people and people living with disability were given special treatment and security personnel ensured peaceful voting.
As often happens in Bayelsa, accreditation was slow and affected former President Goodluck Jonathan – as it did in 2015 – but he eventually cleared the hurdle and cast his ballot in Utuoke, his country.
In other states, voters who did not heed the counsel of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to visit its portal to locate their polling units beforehand, find it difficult to locate their polling units on Election Day.
Most of them had to be assisted by fellow voters with the use of specific codes to locate their polling units, according to Tribune.

Accreditation slow, but without hitches
Nonetheless, accreditation of voters through BVAS goes on without hitches. Voters are orderly as most arrived at their polling units by 7am, hours before the arrival of INEC officials.
But many complain about slow accreditation and express concern they may not be able to vote at the end of time allotted for voting, per Tribune.
Accreditation and voting began at 11am at the High Court in Maraba, Abuja where there are a cluster of polling units, including those in Zinaria International School and Heart Plaza.
The INEC has explained voting is between 8.30am and 2.30pm, but the closing time will be extended for everyone on the queue by 2.30pm to cast their ballots.
