The gale of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress hit Imo State on Wednesday as the opposition party’s State Publicity Secretary, Ogubundu Nwadike, defected to the ruling party.

In his resignation letter addressed to the chairman of PDP in Imo State, Nwadike said his decision was purely personal. He said he took the decison after due consultation with his family and “mentors.”

Declaring his support at the APC secretariat on Okigwe Road, Nwadike said he joined the party because he saw the integrity of Governor Hope Uzodimma in the development of the state.

He said: “Despite the unnecessary sentiment of opposition in Imo State, there is reconstruction going on around the state.

“Let it be on record that my coming over to the party is to continue serving Imo State in my capacity, using my talent to do so. I am an apostle of rebuild Imo State. Recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction by the governor is part of making Imo a better state.”
