Imo government launches Pilot Security Data Capturing

In an effort to beef up security and improve the well being of Imo citizens, the state government has launched Pilot Security Data Capturing to enable law enforcement agents track and flush out criminals who disguise as Keke (tricycle) operators in the state.

Addressing the Keke operators at the Heroes Square, Owerri recently, Governor Rochas Okorocha stated that the issue of security of lives and property is at the front burner of the Rescue Mission administration to ensure meaningful development.

 

The governor, who commended the group for the maximum cooperation he enjoyed from them since the inception of the present administration, pointed out that he justified their mandate through numerous transformation projects established in the State just within three and half years of Rescue Mission.

 

He assured the group that keke will be replaced with taxi in the State capital before it will be eradicate in the city.

 

Okorocha revealed that all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were painstakingly chosen for effective representation of the people and called on the group to give APC their full support for consolidation of the progress made so far in the State.

 

In his address earlier, the President, Imo Pilots Transport Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited, Comrade Austine Ojukwu, explained that the Security Data Capturing of Keke in the State gives information about every Keke operator and had exposed some hoodlums who operate Keke as more than 30 stolen tricycles as well as forgotten luggage have been recovered. He encouraged passengers to verity every Keke number before they board.

 

Comrade Ojukwu commended governor Okorocha for his tremendous achievements in the State and assured him of the group’s total support for his 2nd term bid.
