Imo APP candidate congratulates Ihedioha ahead of final announcement

The governorship candidate of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in the Imo State governorship election, Sir Bruno Chidiebere, has congratulated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha for emerging victorious in the election, even with result of one local government area, Ideato South, yet to be announced.   

TheNiche obtained the congratulatory letter of Chidiebere from the Situation Room of the PDP in Imo State.

The letter reads: “I, Sir Brunio Chidiebere Oparoacha (KDG) the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Peoples Party, Imo State, have conceded defeat to Rt Hon Emeka Nkem Ihedioha, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Imo State.

“I congratulate the incoming governor of Imo State for his laudable victory on the just concluded governorship election on the 9th of March 2019.

“I made myself available to render service to my people of Imo State as Governor but they have spoken and I will allow the mandate of the people of Imo state to prevail.”

According to the announced result which TheNiche obtained from the PDP situation room in Imo State,the PDP is in the lead in the result of 26 local governments so far announced.

The last local government result being awaited is Ideato South which is in contention.

So far, the PDP has 280,401 votes. The Action Alliance (AA) candidate, Uche Nwosu comes second with 155,200 votes, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is third with 95,619 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hope Uzodinma, is fourth with 83,151 votes.
