Reno Omokri, former social media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has countered those alleging that he might soon join the All Progressives Congress (APC) like former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, a repentant critic of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Fani-Kayode joined the APC after being its chief critic for seven years. This made some Nigerians to start speculating that Omokri, also a staunch critic of the APC and Buhari, could as well join the party, especially with media reports that his boss, ex-President Jonathan, was on his way into the fold.
Jonathan reportedly supported the APC candidate in the last Bayelsa State governorship election. The APC won the election only for the Supreme Court to void the victory.
Omokri, in a tweet, says that he should not be compared to Fani-Kayode, as they both have different principles.
He said: “I am not Femi Fani-Kayode. My principles, not my stomach, dictate my actions. I proved it today again. For those comparing, read my lips, I will NEVER join the APC. Don’t judge me by FFK’s actions. Judge me by my past. Loyalty and stability are my past!”
