On Sunday, May 12, Mohammed Gudaji Kazaure, a House of Representatives member representing Kazaure federal constituency of Jigawa State was at the home of Senator Dino Melaye to pay him a condolence visit over the death of his mother, Deaconess Melaye.
But after seeing the fleet of many expensive cars lined up in the Senator’s Abuja mansion, all bearing his signature number plates – MELAYE, Kazaure exclaimed ‘Kai Dino!’ a way of expressing shock in Hausa.
In the video shared on Twitter, Kazaure wondered how one man could own so many expensive cars amidst the poverty in the country. He told those listening to him that if he owned all those cars, he would probably have run mad.
Lying on one of the sports cars in the compound, Kazaure said: “Do you know how many people this car can feed? What will I tell God if all these cars belong to me and the poor cannot eat?
“My interest is the welfare of the poor. If I have N100 million, I’ll spend N90 million on feeding the poor,” he said.
Those who know Dino say he is obsessed with cars even before he became a factor in Nigeria’s politics.
He was recently spotted driving in a convoy of three Mercedez G-Wagon, each costing at least N90 million.
