I’ll make smuggling unattractive, says Tin Can Island Port boss

Since taking over the Tin Can Island port command, Oloyede has adopted measures to meet the revenue target.

The Customs Area Controller, Tin can Island command, Comptroller Olakunle Oloyede has stated he would make smuggling unattractive through pragmatic measures.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the executive members Association of Martime Journalist of Nigeria (AMJON), CAC Olakunle Oloyede reiterated that Smugglers are enemies to Nigeria’s economic development, insisting that the revenue loses smugglers are subjecting the country into must be checked as he vowed to put a stop to it.

Since taking over the Tin Can Island port command, Olakunle Oloyede said to achieve his revenue target, he has adopted measures to mitigate unnecessary loses for the purpose of meeting his command’s target.

According to him, discipline, punctuality and other positive work ethics were introduced to enhance productivity, he expressed joy that for six weeks he was in charge, revenue has greatly improved.

“I made sure I carry officers under my command along in all assignments, I’ve to show and work by example, quarter past 8 am, I’m already in the office. I also want to solicit for Media assistance especially AMJON in this assignment, we should form a synage to improve the work to make Nigeria a better place.”

He thanked AMJON excos for their visit as he urged them to thrive to avoid first hand information, adding that his doors are open for clarification of stories not properly investigated.

AMJON’s vice president Andrew Utulu welcomed CAC Oloyede to his new command and wished him well unbehalve of the Association.
