The Special Aide to the Abia State governor on social media, Hon John Okeiyi Kalu, has warned the public against using social media to cause mayhem in the state.

This followed growing tension in the state due to clash between soldiers and commercial tricycle operators (Keke riders) last Monday night.

The aide said the incident was a case of alleged extortion resulting into keke riders and soldiers clash and not the IPOB as widely reported on Tuesday.

“It is high time the social media and our National Dailies verify issues and report factual than overheating the polity in our nation,” he said, stressing, “Government is not fighting IPOB members in the state.”

He said that the present administration from national to state frowned at all forms of extortion; ranging from givers and takers.

Kalu assured the public that the government has intervened on the matter, pointing out that the tension had been controlled via security officials in the state just as he said.
