The Governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, will be the Special
Guest at this year’s Mbaise Colloquium, which holds on Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
The Guest Speaker of the annual discussion roundtable,being organized by Mbaise People’s Congress is Dr Ferdinand Odoemenam, the Vice President /COO of Sterling Oil Global Resources Limited.
The purpose of the annual intellectual harvest, which began in 1995 is to discuss issues of relevance to the people of Mbaise both at home and in the Diaspora. With the theme, Funding De Mbaise University: Opportunities and Options, the flagship programme will as usual, attract top intellectuals, professionals and technocrats of Mbaise extraction and beyond.
The venue of the conclave is Chris Six Hotel, Eke Ahiara Junction along Owerri-Umuahia road, Mbaise, by 10 AM prompt.
Two distinguished Mbaise sons – Sir Stanley Amuchie and Dr Paschal Iwuh – will discuss the paper. The one-day event will be chaired by Barrister Lucius E Nwosu (SAN), while His Royal Highness Eze Benjamin A. Nwachukwu will grace the occasion as the royal father.
According to the national President of Mbaise People’s Congress, Ochiagha Carl Azudibia, the theme of the Colloquium was chosen to give Mbaise sons and daughters, as well as their friends and relatives an opportunity to contribute their ideas towards making the dream of De Mbaise University a reality.
The chairman 2019 MPC Colloquium organizing committee, Engr. Chimaroke Ben Nnaji, said that “Mbaise People’s Congress will use the occasion of the Colloquium to honour three of our outstanding teenage children – Miss Stephaney Chizoba Ugboaja, Master Favour Chukwuemeka Alozie and Master Chibueze Amaechi – for their exceptional performances in the recently released WAEC results. Respectively, they came 1st, 2nd, and 3rd nationally in the recently released WASSCE results there by making Mbaise nation proud.
MPC, through its scholarship and empowerment board, MPC SAVES, will also award scholarships to deserving Mbaise students in tertiary institutions during the colloquium. The event will witness talent display by the youths and students, Art Exhibition by an international award-winning Artist of Mbaise descent, Vivian Timothy and an exhibition by OLUAKA Institute.
