IGP rewards DPO for rejecting N124m bribe

A no-nonsense police officer, Daniel Itse, has rejected a bribe of $200,000 from armed robbers. This translates to N124 million at the parallel market which offers N620 to a dollar.

The action of Daniel Itse Amah, who is the Divisional Police Officer of  Nasarawa Police State, has excited the Inspector General of Police IGP, Usman Alkali Baba.

The IGP has presented a certificate of Award to the DPO, a Superintendent of Police, for rejecting the $200,000 offered to him as a bribe in a case of alleged armed robbery.

According to reporting by Daily Post, the Award to Daniel Itse Amah was contained in which extols his sound professionalism leading to the arrest of Ali Zaki, a Kano-based legal practitioner and some Police officers.

The online newspaper said investigations by operatives led by SP Daniel Itse Amah led to the arrest of the suspected armed robbery syndicate in Kano.

Consequently, the case was transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on the directive of the IGP for discreet investigation.

According to the Daily Post, when it contacted CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, he confirmed the arrest. He said: “The lawyer and other suspects involved in the case have a case to answer and we are still on with the matter.”
