Justice Inyang Ekwo of Federal High Court sitting in Abuja Nigeria on Monday declared that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Council under the control of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu has powers to recruit constables into the NPF.

In his ruling on the suit instituted by the Police Service Commission challenging the power of the NPF and the IGP in carrying out the ongoing recruitment exercise of 10,000 police constables, Justice Ekwo said that the suit by the Police Service Commission lacked merit.

He threw out the suit of PSC for lacking in merit.
