Husband and his wife who became a couple during their training in the police academy, are now police commissioners

A man and his wife have been decorated as police commissioners, a statement from Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba says.
The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, yesterday, decorated Patrick Kehinde Longe and his wife, Yetunde Longe, as Commissioners of Police.
According to Punch, the couple were among those recently promoted by the Police Service Commission.
The ceremony was held at the Goodluck Jonathan Peacekeeping Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The statement from Frank Mba, also a commissioner of police, said the husband and wife were course mates and joined the Nigeria Police Force on the same day.
The IG also doctorated 23 other senior police officers including two Deputy Inspector Generals of Police.
The decoration of the couple as police commissioners sparked hilarious reactions from Nigerians on the micro blogging App, Twitter, who find the news of husband and wife police commissioners out of the ordinary.
@musajidda said: “Their son no get problem for this country.”
@JeremiahBanko16 also said: “They should decorate their children too.”
The husband and and wife were enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on same day- March 3, 1990- as cadet assistant superintendents of police (ASP).

They met at the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano state and developed a relationship that bloomed into marriage.
They have served in different capacities at different police platforms across the nation.
Yetunde once headed the Lagos State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba.
While she was the head of the department, she was hailed for her sincere efforts in giving the department a new image, good reputation and instilling discipline. Significantly, she ensured that suspects were not detained more than necessary.
While marriage among officers are allowed,, they are prohibited between officers and other ranks in Nigeria’s security agencies.
