Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has issued a stern warning to all police officers dropping or using his name for extortion purposes, urging them to maintain the highest standards of integrity within the force.
This was disclosed on Wednesday, in a post by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi on his Official X handle, where he
noted that the IGP expressed deep concern about the development and emphasized that such actions tarnish the reputation of his person and the Police Force, thereby eroding public trust.
Egbetokun further warned that any officer found guilty of leveraging his name for fraudulent activities or extortion would face severe disciplinary measures.
