The leadership of the Nigeria Police Force has finally succumbed to the intense pressure from Nigerians to deal decisively with the issue of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu on Sunday announced the disbandment of the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
The police boss said that a new arrangement that would tackle cases of armed robbery and other vices would soon be set up.
He directed that all officers under the SARS unit should be absorbed into the regular police operations.
