Following the widely spread message that Nigerians should indulge in salt water baths to stave off the spread of the Ebola virus in the country, the Federal Government has urged Nigerians to ignore the messages.
The warning by the Federal Government, directly against bathing with salt water as circulated via SMS and several social media platforms, says it is dangerous for people to go the way of speculations as it will derail the need to enforce the highest level of hygiene.
Officials of the government said while efforts to contain the scourge, including screenings at the major airports in the country, surveillance and treatment of identified cases continue, people should take measures on personal hygiene serious.
