Dr Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2024 Edo State governorship election, has described the abduction of the state chairman of his party, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi as shocking and distressing.
He made this known while condemning the development in a statement he made available to the press.
Ighodalo said: “The news of the kidnapping of the Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, on Friday night, was extremely shocking and distressing.”

He added: “I strongly condemn this dastardly act, and my heart goes out to the Aziegbemi family at this very trying time. I join the family in offering fervent prayers for his safe return.”
Ighodalo went on to urge security agencies to spare no effort in ensuring the release of the chairman, charging them on “investigating the matter and working assiduously for our dear party chairman’s safe release.”
