Nigerian international, Jude Odion Ighalo, looks likely to start his first Premier League match for Manchester United on Saturday October 16, 2020 at Newcastle.

Ighalo, who has not started any Premier league match for United, will lead the frontline with England international, Marcus Rashford, at the St James’ Park encounter following the suspension of Anthony Martial in the Man United match with Tottenham Hotspurs.

Also the newly acquired striker, Edinson Cavani, will not play the game as he is being quarantined following his switch over to United; and may play against his former club, PSG, next week.

Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that captain Harry Maguire was a doubt for Saturday’s return to Premier League action at Newcastle United.

The centre-back was sent off in England’s UEFA Nations League defeat to Denmark but sustained a knock before then and must be assessed before making the trip to Tyneside.

He also said that Facundo Pellistri would not likely be involved, while Alex Telles would be resting following a flight back from South America, following his participation in the World Cup qualifiers.

“Harry seemed to pick up a little knock just before he got sent off,” revealed Ole to MUTV.

Pellistri, meanwhile, has been training with the first-team squad but is clearly being viewed as one for the future.

“He’s a young boy coming from Uruguay,” explained the boss. “It’s the tradition we have here where we want to bring young players in and let them grow and develop and become the player they can be.

“Of course we’ll give him time. He’s more one for the future than now, but he’s exciting and he’s shown some things in training that we don’t really have here. I’m looking forward to helping him develop and helping him settle.”
