Former Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo, has hit out at Nigerians mocking Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen on social media, after he failed to seal a move away from Napoli.
Osimhen has been frozen out at the Serie A club following the collapse of transfer talks with Premier League club, Chelsea and Saudi Arabia outfit, Al Ahli.
The development led to mixed reactions from Nigerians and other football fans on the Internet.
While some netizens sympathized with the striker, many of them criticized the player and his entourage.

However, taking to his X page on Sunday, Ighalo defended the striker, saying Osimhen is human and not infallible.
He also reminded those mocking him that he has made sacrifices for the national team.
Speaking via his verified social media handle, he tweeted: “No human being is perfect and we have all made mistakes in life.
“But seeing comments about this young man from his own country people makes me really sad, without even knowing what happened.
“I spoke to him and I can feel the pain in his voice, the way he’s been treated, this young man play with heart and pains for his country.
“Hmmm it’s well, he will definitely be back stronger, we learn everyday in life. Happy New Month to y’all.”
