His invitation has generated a lot of debates among Nigeria fans across the country and beyond.

The team resumed camping on Monday but Ighalo arrived at the camp on Thursday morning and he is excited joining the team.

The 32-year-old retired from the national team after the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, but agreed to come out of retirement to help the team.

Speaking on his return, Ighalo said, he’s delighted to be back again and can’t wait to reunite with his teammates.

“I’m happy to be back, it’s been long. Almost two years plus and it’s good to see some of the guys.”

“I’ve seen Ekong, he’s my strong man and hopefully, I will see other guys soon.” He told Super Eagles media.

Ighalo is expected to be in action when Super Eagles take on Liberia and Cape Verde in FIFA World Cup qualifying game on Saturday and Wednesday respectively.
