Ice Prince was arrested on September 2 for allegedly assaulting a police officer on duty in Lekki, Lagos Police Command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said.

Rapper, Panshak Zamani aka Ice Prince, has been released from the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The musician is accused of assaulting a police officer in Lagos.

Confirming his release, the rapper’s lawyer Folarin Dalmeida said he was released on Thursday.

“His bail conditions have been met, and he was released yesterday (Thursday),” he said on Friday.

Magistrate T.F. Oyeniyi of Ajah Magistrate Court 1 had set bail conditions for Ice Prince at N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

On Wednesday, the trial could not go on due to the absence of the prosecution’s witnesses.

Ice Prince was arrested on September 2 for allegedly assaulting a police officer on duty in Lekki, Lagos Police Command Spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said.

He said the singer was stopped for driving without license plates but allegedly abducted the police officer in his car and assaulted the said officer.

Hundeyin in a tweet on his Twitter handle also alleged that Ice Prince threatened to throw the officer in a river.

The tweet read, “At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.

“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
