Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has pledged that he will not be distracted from championing cogent development in the state in spite of vociferous criticisms from his detractors.

Besides, the governor said that the government will continue to operate an open-door policy, and maintaining consultative leadership to take the state to greater heights.

According to spokesperson to Governor El-Rufai in a statement issued in Kaduna, the governor was speaking during breaking of the Ramadan fast with prominent chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Government House, Kaduna.

The guests were led by the chairman of the State APC Caucus, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muazu Usman Gangara, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, former state caretaker chairman of the party and Alhaji Ahmed Yaro Coca-Cola, former state chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC).

According to El-Rufai: “I am happy to be with you, we will continue to advance the ideals of our party and will never be distracted from championing cogent development. We were elected by the citizens to work for them, to secure lives and properties, revive health, education, agriculture and the economy of our state as outlined in our campaign manifesto. We are on that path and by the grace of Almighty God, we will not derail.

“Our doors are wide open to all citizens of Kaduna State, our party members and the opposition. Everyone should point to us what we are doing wrong so that we can make amends for the common good. There is no one that wants to see us that was denied, we will certainly meet and further this interaction.

“Many of you here know the challenges our state has to overcome, and the need to work, work and work for the people. We must strive to bring many benefits of change”, the governor stressed.

In their separate comments, the former Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gangara, and Dr. Baba-Ahmed thanked the governor for the invitation and promised to continue to work for the peace and development of the state.
