France midfielder Paul Pogba has criticised the system at United and taken a swipe at interim boss, Ralf Rangnick, who he claimed has refused to give him a definite position in the team.

The 28-year-old also suggested The Red Devils’ season is over, adding that his five years at Old Trafford has not brought the desired silverware.

The Frenchman will be out of contract by the end of this season and talks to extend his deal with Manchester United have stalled.

European heavyweights such as Paris St Germain, Juventus, and Real Madrid are keenly watching the situation and are hoping to profit from it by signing the gifted midfielder as a free agent in the summer.

Paul Pogba won the Carabao Cup and Europa League on his return to Old Trafford but has experienced a trophy drought after that.

The midfielder was a serial title winner at Juventus and won the World Cup with France.

After saying he intends to ‘catch up’ on his barren years at United, Pogba told Le Figaro: “You have to be honest, the last five seasons have not satisfied me – really not at all.

“This year it is dead, we won’t win anything. Whether it is with Manchester United or at another club, I want to win trophies.”

The flamboyant midfielder also berated his manager, Ralf Rangnick, who he said has not allowed him to settle into a role at Manchester United, just like he has done in France.

Pogba said, “It’s simple with France, I play and I play in my position – I know my role and I feel the confidence of the coach and the players,”

He attributed the inconsistency at United to the poor showing of the club, saying he get along with the French gaffer before he has a defined role.

He continued “It’s normal to feel a difference at Manchester United because it’s hard to be consistent when you often have a change to your position, or the team system, or your partners.

“I get along very well with [France boss Didier Deschamps], he gave me a role that I know, but at Manchester United, do I really have a role? I ask the question but I don’t have an answer.”
