I am still chairman of Abia APC, says Nwankpa

By Valentine Amanze

The factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon Donatus Nwankpa, insisted that he was the only recognised leader of the party in the state despite the court order which upheld the Dr Emmanuel Ndukwe faction as the authentic APC party chapter in the state.

Nwankpa has also urged his supporters to disregard rumours that his faction had been sacked.

According to him, the rumour is the handiwork of Ndukwe and his sponsors to mislead the people of the state.

His words: “I am still the bonafide chairman of Abia State chapter of our great party, the APC.”

He pointed out that the authenticity of his position was evidenced by the fact that both Dr Ndukwe-led faction and their court order were not recognised by the National Executive of the party.

Nwankpa said that the judgment would be vacated soon because, according to him, the order was issued by a biased judge, stressing that the state acting Chief Judge has kindly reassigned the case to a new Judge from Igbere whom he claims will dispense with the matter very soon. He urged his supporters and the people of Abia State APC to remain loyal to him and his leadership.
