As a continuation of the war against it, Facebook has banned Chinese tech company, Huawei from pre-installing its apps on all its devices, Reuters reports.
The ban, confirmed by Facebook, also extends to other Facebook products like Instagram and WhatsApp.
Consumers can always download the apps from the Play Store and also update them. Analysts believe the move will make Huawei phones less attractive to users.
The biggest blow came when Google revoked its Android license, which makes it difficult for Huawei to keep building Android phones. Huawei is the second largest smartphone maker in the world.
Huawei has since gotten a 90-day exemption from trade restrictions from the U.S. Commerce Department. But, according to Reuters, Facebook’s ban is almost immediately and it applies to any Huawei phone that hasn’t yet left the factory.
