Dickson

.Says we’ve been vindicated

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State has denied involvement of the party in death of a Naval personnel in Brass Island.

It also faulted the state government and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for propagating the alleged falsehood.

Through the state Publicity Secretary, Doifie Buokoribo, the APC, on Monday, March 11, 2019, stated that the Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy, Yenagoa, exonerated the party of any involvement in the death of its personnel.

It would be recalled that on Monday, the Central Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy, Yenagoa, stated that the recent death of one of its personnel on Brass Island had nothing to do with last Saturday’s elections, adding that the naval rating was not killed on election duty.

The Navy authorities also explained that the naval rating was on escort duty onboard a ship at the sea, which was unfortunately attacked offshore Brass, and he suffered a gunshot wound and later died.

The party has therefore cautioned the public to take whatever comes from the PDP in the state and Governor Dickson with a grain of salt.

According to the APC, “They (PDP and the governor) have lied before. They are lying. They will continue to lie to cover their desperation, fear and ineptitude. No government can survive on the basis of lies, fake news and agitprop.”

The APC however advised the PDP and Governor Dickson to apologise for misleading the public, raising a false alarm, and spreading rumour.
