Popular Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, better known as Hilda Baci, has revealed why some people were not happy with her attempt to break the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
According to her, those who are trying to undermine her latest endeavour are doing so because they are intimidated by her beauty, skills and charisma.
She made this known while featuring as a guest on the latest episode of the I Said What I Said Podcast, hosted by Feyikemi Abudu popularly known as FK and Jola Ayeye aka Jollz, where she also claimed she is “too blessed ”

Speaking during the chat, she said: “There were a lot of ‘It’s not fairs’, like, ‘how can only her be fine, be hot, ah ah. How can only her have all these things? That’s not how life is.”
On speculation that she paid for publicity, Hilda Baci attributed the attention she got while attempting to break the world’s cooking record to the grace of God, insisting such cannot be planned nor paid for.
“The PR that we invested in, how much, how many was it? The kind of earned media that the attempt got, you can not pay for it. You can’t plan for it, you can’t pay it. It’s grace. You can only hope.” she added.
Hilda Baci set a new 100 hours non-stop cooking record after breaking the former record holder, India’s Lata Tandon’s 87 hours and 45 minutes record.
However, Guinness World Record (GWR) is yet to certify her because the attempt is currently under review.
