The spiraling spate of insecurity in the country took more frightening dimension on Wednesday when gunmen attacked former central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo in his Anambra home community, Isuofia, at the Town Hall while having an interactive session with some members of the community

Two policemen were allegedly killed in the process, according to a statement by his media aide, Christian Aburime.

Soludo is a leading aspirant for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket in the November governorship election in the state.

Though the precise location of Soludo is currently unknown, our Reporter gathered that he was able to escape the attack unhurt. The Commissioner for Public Utilities, incidentally, his brother-in-law, was however taken away by the gunmen.
