Gunmen abduct Anglican priest, Emmanuel, family in Delta

Emmanuel, wife and their children were travelling from Ughelli to Uwheru community in Delta State when they were kidnapped

Yet to be identified gunmen have reportedly abducted an Anglican priest, Rev Agbadamashi Emmanuel, his wife and children.

They were kidnapped along the East-West road by Evwreni junction in Delta State on Friday, October 6.

According to the DAILY POST, Rev Emmanuel and members of his family were travelling from Ughelli to Uwheru community, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State when the gunmen attacked and kidnapped them.

As of the time of this report, the cleric and his family are still in captivity.

The development was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Anglican Communion, Ughelli Diocese of Delta State, Hon Justice Iyasere in a telephone chat.

He, however, could not confirm if the gunmen had contacted his church or any of his family members to demand for ransom.

Reacting to the kidnap incident, Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe promised to address the matter as soon as he got information from the police division handling the case.
