Two of this year’s Gulder Ultimate Search contestants, Mfon Mikel and Gerald Odeka have been shown the exit for two different reasons.
While Mfom was evicted for unruly and aggressive behavior, Gerald paid the price for his group’s last position placement in a task.
Gulder Ultimate’s jungle survival routine took its toll on the contestants and led to Esitima and Mfon exchanging harsh words over a pair of sandals.
Estima had approached Mfon to ask him for her slippers after he mistakenly wore them because the sandals were similar.
Mfon however did not take kindly to her accusations and began to call her names, got aggressive, and even issued death threats.
The other Gulder Ultimate contestants had to intervene to prevent imminent chaos that might result from the confrontation.
Mfom told Esitima that “she couldn’t dare talk to him that way outside the show” and that “she should watch her back.”
He went on to say he had noticed she was “uncultured and disrespectful” and had been trying to annoy him. He, however, admitted he allowed his anger to get the best of him.
The confrontation was eventually resolved in the evening after contestants gathered at the place of the talking drum.
The show anchor, Toke Makinwa, asked both contestants what transpired and they gave their accounts of the events that led to the fight.
Mfon was later sent packing from the Gulder Ultimate Search after Toke Makinwa adjudged him as the aggressor and disqualified him for gross misconduct.
The task-master, Kunle Remi, had earlier told the contestants that the group which came last in the task of the day, will be losing a member at the talking drum later in the evening.
Gerald Odeka paid the price for his team’s poor showing at the task, as he was eliminated from the show too.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Omoya, was the first to be evicted in the Gulder Ultimate Search ‘Age of Craftmanship,’ Omoya, a member of the Clan Amo, was eliminated when his Clan lost the ‘Third Eye Challenge’.
This means 15 contestants are now left in the show to compete for the N50 million grand prize.
