Guinness World Records raises her profile having clocked d 93 hours 11 minutes

Hilda Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the new record holder for the longest cooking time by an individual, a feat attained in a kook-a-thon in Lekki, Lagos in May witnessed online by a global audience.
“Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes,” GWR announced in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
Hilda, 26, began cooking on Thursday May 11 and continued through to Monday May 15, cooking more than 100 pots of food during the five-day gig.
She attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final tally because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the marathon, per reporting by The PUNCH.

Hilda Baci in for endorsements, sponsorships for her cooking world record
After Hilda finished the race in May, she was congratulated by the previous world record holder Tala London who set the Longest Cooking Marathon time by an individual at 87 hours 45 minutes in India in 2019.

The GWR does not pay record holders for their achievement but the holder gets an official complimentary record holder certificate stating details of the record.

During her attempt, the amazing chef received Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos — Nigeria’s richest and most populous state — who went to support her giant stride at Amore Gardens in Lekki.
Other personalities who visited the competition site or spoke to her on the phone or tweeted congratulations to her include President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, then-President-elect Bola Tinubu, and then-Senate President contestant Godswill Akpabio.
All this means more fame and recognition for the new record breaker.
Hilda Baci is now a unique brand name globally.
