Group urges Nigerians to reject APC and any person Buhari chooses as successor

PACGG said: “Ironically, even in the midst of the APC’s profound failures, people will think APC members will have enough shame by showing little or no interest in the office (presidency) under the party. But the contrary is rather the case.”

Ahead of the general election in 2023, Nigerians have been urged not to consider anyone that has a link with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as President, rather they should back the Peoples Democratic Party to alleviate their untold hardship.

The Political Action Committee for Good Governance (PACGG), under the coordinating chairmanship of Ojo (Ologbojo) Akinwale, in a statement said there is a need to inject new blood into the country’s nascent democracy to save the country from total collapse.

Considering all the unprecedented high level of discontent and uncertainty in the country, PACGG said it still believes that hope is not totally lost for the people.

The group pointed out that enough has been said about Buhari and the APC led administration’s horrendous administrative incompetence and all the bad luck it has brought upon Nigeria.

It said: “2023 will be the determinant and consequential litmus test for the Nigerians; signalling the make or the break year for the country. So, it is absolutely vital that Nigerians must get it right by electing and putting in office a competent and compassionate person who is God-fearing to stir the country’s ship away from its disastrous past and as well its current horrendous state, into a more liberating and fulfilling future.”

“It is time to shift our time, focus, energy and resources on how to best redirect the country into a better tomorrow to a competent hand (PDP) that will again give the suffering masses, the much needed and anticipated deep sense of hopes and a liberating sigh of reliefs which has been, for more than seven years of APC miserable regime, lacking, unimpressive, tragic and inconsequential.”

The statement adds: “Unfortunately, it is somehow unimaginable still seeing the high number of APC presidential aspirants who are presently expressing interest in occupying the high office; knowing quite well how demonstrably failure the records and performances of their party, including the current occupant of the presidency has been and coupled as well as with the enormous inhumane broad treatments they have subjected and meted on the Nigeria people.

“Ironically, even in the midst of the APC’s profound failures, people will think APC members will have enough shame by showing little or no interest in the office (presidency) under the party. But the contrary is rather the case because it became completely obvious that the word shame simply has no space or place in the party’s characters, which clearly explains why there were an unbelievably large number of aspirants still showing a vested interest in its presidential pool bid.”

PACGG said the two leading Aspirants who have declared an interest under the banner of the APC – Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo all have links to Buhari and his government, which is a critical or a major disqualification.

“Having experienced the imperative of the negative impacts of APC administrative governance in various capacities by the people, the critical question Nigerians should be asking themselves, is that with all the excruciating pains and sufferings inflicted on them and as well as the ruinous administrative governance practices APC has melted on the country as an organ, does the party merit given a shot at another term in office that will certainly guarantee more of the same – tragic and horrific – predictably deplorable outcomes? Of course not!

“Certainly, any government that presides on a nation where incidences of continuous mayhem, incessant killings and callousness automatically reset people’s psyche to accepting the situations as normal, is a fundamental attestation that government is incapable of protecting the lives of its citizens. Therefore, such a government has lost all moral justification for being in governance and must not be rewarded with another shot at governance, ever.”

The group perceives the grim thought of yet another Buhari term as scary, unimaginable and terrifying. Nonetheless, therefore, the group has determined against letting this imaginative thought metamorphose into a reality by imploring every conceivable mechanism within its capacity to make sure that APC will never smell the corridor of power again.

The group further stressed that Tinubu could not be President of this nation due to his shoddy educational attainments claim whose, even up till now, verification is still point blank highly improbable. And adding that the sources of his stupendous financial wealth that remain arguably largely uncorroborated, unsubstantiated and a mystery, as yet another.

PACGG went on to say: “In addition, a lot of things are working against Tinubu’s chances of winning. The topmost being his reluctance in taking a definite stand on the Fulani herdsmen and terrorists’ ruthless and menacing attacks on the people of the south and, particularly, his southwest kins. The last reason was the issue of his glaring extraordinary favouritism to the north at the expense of the south.

“On the issue of Osinbajo, the vice president, it is noted that Osinbajo is a lame-duck VP, who does not have anything of substance as moral encasements to lay claim to as his achievement in office, should not be taken as a serious contender either in this case.

“In many instances, the records have repeatedly shown him to be of no interest in matters that are of southern interests. He continues to maintain an uncharacteristic deep silence on many vital national issues and refuses to take a stand.

“This brings us (PACGG) to what we perceive to be the most logical, cogent and practical alternative solution to solving the enormous challenges facing the country (Nigeria), past and present.

“Therefore, It is the group’s fervent belief that, after an exhaustive congenial and casual analysis of all the aspiring and competing political parties in the pool, PDP stood out among others as the right and the only party in the country today with the potential, the competence and the capacity to defeat APC; and reshape the country again from its horrendous past and including its present surreptitious drifts and falls to a rather stable and healthy future.

“It was in this light that, the group is strongly throwing in its support firmly behind the PDP as its choice of the party in the 2013 upcoming elections, over many others, including, APC. The stack reality is that we have seen and lived, literally, with the contemporary meaning of the APC campaign shibboleth – CHANGE – which has dramatically exposed the gruesome characterization and depth of its banality that no country will remotely wish even on its harshest enemies,” PACGG added.
