Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood will have to wait for his club to conclude their own investigation before donning the club’s jersey once again.
The club made this known via a statement released after charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped.
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 amid allegations relating to the same woman.
On Thursday, the Crown Prosecution Service revealed that the charges brought against the 21-year-old were withdrawn after key witnesses withdrew their involvement in the case.

However, the Red Devils in a statement said Greenwood will neither return to training nor play for the club until they have conducted and concluded their own process.
The statement read: “Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.
“The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps.
“We will not make any further comment until that process is [over].
“Greenwood isn’t returning to training at the moment.”
Meanwhile, Greenwood has spoken out for the first time since he was cleared of all charges.
In a statement released to the press, he said: “I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. There will be no further comment at this time.”
The England international last played for the Red Devils in their win over West Ham last January.
He made his first-team debut in 2019 and has since then played 129 first-team games for Manchester United, scoring 35 goals.
