Govt bans dredging in Imo, governor appoints more aides

The Imo State government has banned all forms of dredging activities in the state. Consequently, it directed all the dredging companies in the state to suspend their activities.

  The directive was given through the Office of the Chairman, Imo State Task Force on Dredging and Mining Activities, CP Dan Okoro (rtd).

 Okoro however warned that failure to comply with the directive would attract heavy penalty and impoundment of equipment.

  He also advised concerned companies to visit Government House, Owerri or call any of the following numbers for further instructions:

  Meanwhile, the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has approved the appointment of two more persons as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (SSA).

  The new appointees are:

Obioha Okwuonu; and Amanze Njemanze.

  The confirmation of their nomination on Friday, March 13, 2020, brings to 14 the total number of SSAs to the Governor.

Also, the governor has approved the appointment of Mr. Chidi Chinasa Nwaneri as Special Adviser on Special Duties.

  All the appointments take immediate effect.
