Ilebaye Odiniya, winner of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) All Stars edition of the television reality show, which ended Sunday, has been described as a trendsetter and pride of Kogi State by the governor of the state, Yahaya Bello.

The governor via a congratulatory statement issued in Lokoja by his Media Aide, Onogwu Mohammed, said Ilebaye’s victory confirmed her brilliance, perseverance and humility.

Bello further stated that the determination, resilience, and poise of the criminology graduate of Salem University, Lokoja, set her apart from others during the three months she spent on the show.

“Ilebaye, you are a trendsetter and Kogi’s pride, who has excelled in both academic and social spheres.

“This victory is a testament to your brilliance, intellect and maturity. Your determination, resilience, and poise set you apart during the three months you spent in the house,”

Ilebaye after garnering 30.08% of votes cast by fans of the show won the N120 million grand prize of the 8th season of BBNaija on Sunday night.

She edged out five other finalists – Mercy, Adekunle, CeeC, Cross and Pere – to clinch the coveted status of the winner of this year’s edition.

Mercy Eke, who won the show in 2019 received the second-highest percentage of votes, 23.48%.

In third place was CeeC who received 23.41%, Adekunle came fourth with 12.61%, while Pere and Cross finished in the fifth and sixth places with 5.82% and 4.60% respectively.

Ilebaye’s victory surprised many as she was a three-week evictee during her season “Level Up” 2022, and an underdog in the All Stars season.
