The Gombe State Athletics Association (GAA) Chairman Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe has inaugurated an 11 member organizing committee for the state Inter Primary Schools Athletics Championship.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony held at Resources center in Gombe on Tuesday, the state chairman Hon. Gombe stated that the essence of organizing the Inter Primary Schools Championship and one of them is to hanness and galvanise young school pupils at the grassroots to embrace Sports.
“The Championship being the first in the state is also to motivate upcoming School pupils on the importance of AthIetics as a sport and make quick informed decision to chose it as career in future if they excel.”
He insisted that the Championship would go a long way in advancing the course of Athletics in the state and at national level.
Gombe added that, the 11 member committee should work tacitly in conjunction with the education secretaries and schools games masters across the state towards the success of the Championship.
Gombe also tasked the committee members to work tirelessly in discharging thier duties as to deliver the right results before, during and after the meet.
