Players and officials of Go Round FC will share a quarter of a million naira (N250, 000) if they can win against COD FC in Lagos this weekend.
Peter Aniekwe, a long-time fan of the club, made the promise to the players via telephone before departing for Lagos. He assured them that the money would be paid immediately after the match, if they win.
“I will also mobilise support for them so they can feel at home in Lagos when they play,” Aniekwe said after his chat with the players.
“I live and do my business in Lagos and it will be a great thing to see the team I support come here and win a game so I hope this encouragement I am giving them will go a long way to psyche them up,” Aniekwe said.
Aniekwe, also known as Mac Pee is a shipping and clearing magnate based in Lagos who earlier in the season made donations of office equipment for the Go Round FC secretariat at the Kris Dera Hotel Stadium at Omoku.
“I believe this team can achieve their aim of qualifying to play in the NPFL next season. All of us who are fans of the club must come together and do our bit to see how we can achieve this.”
Delta Force currently top the table with 11 points. Remo Stars are second with 10 points while Go Round FC have nine points.
